This was my first 10k race.
This was my first exercise in 3 weeks, since IMFL, and since our vacation. I wasnt planning on going hard, but to just run that far would be a win.
Then Aaron (my coach) told me to run with him. He was going to run a bit faster than what i was planning, but not much, so it should be ok.
We basically averaged 8:20 pace for the first 5 miles, then we picked up the pace a bit, to a 7:47 pace for mile 6 and just at 7:00 pace for the last quarter mile. As it turned out, my effort was enough for 3rd place in my AG. It was my first podium since i stopped racing Clydesdales, a couple years ago. Pretty cool. Overall, it was a fun race, good cause, great friends.
